El Dorado Hills is known for its beautiful oak-covered hills with views of Sacramento and Folsom Lake to the west and the snowcapped peaks of the Sierra Nevada to the east. The American River provides the north boundary.

Originally planned a series of villages, El Dorado Hills’ many different neighborhoods offer something for everyone. The community is served by three award-winning school districts, Buckeye Union ElementaryRescue Union Elementary, and El Dorado Union High School districts.

El Dorado Hills Town Center provides a downtown feel with shopping, dining, a movie theater, and a lakeside amphitheater for community events with several more dining and shopping centers dotting the area. All just minute from all El Dorado Hills homes!

The community loves its youth sports and performing arts for young children through high school. Favorite other activities include bicycling, running, tennis, boating and fishing on Folsom Lake, rafting the American River, and golf at the Robert Trent Jones Jr. course at the private Serrano Country Club.

In less than an hour’s drive, residents enjoy the beautiful foothill wine country, downtown Sacramento and the State Capital, historic gold rush sites, and vast expanses of the El Dorado National Forest. Inside of 100 miles is San Francisco and Silicon Valley, the Napa and Sonoma Valleys, and the beautiful Lake Tahoe basin.
